U3A (University of the Third Age) is a volunteer, not for profit organisation involved in the sharing of knowledge, skills and interests. It promotes the many benefits of lifelong learning.
Hervey Bay U3A was established in 1990 and we offer courses and activities covering interests such as Creative Writing, Ethics, British History, Spanish Language, Art and many more.
You can exercise your brain by participating in a class, leading an interest group or sharing your skills with others.
If you are retired or semi-retired and would like to stay active, then U3A could be for you.
No qualifications are needed. You just need an enquiring mind and a love of learning.

Coming Events
New Event in 2025 – Guest Speaker Series
This year we will have a new bimonthly Guest Speaker series. Our speakers will deliver a talk on a range of subjects. Our first talk in March will be delivered by Lyn Quince entitled Recording, Preserving and Printing your family history.
In May we will have the second lecture in this series. Pauline Densley will share her memories of surviving Cyclone Tracey in Darwin in her talk entitled Santa Never Made it into Darwin.
Croquet Introduction
Croquet a game of strategy and mild exercise in lovely surroundings. U3A together with the Hervey Bay Croquet club are offering individual and group classes to learn the basics of this great support. Why not get a group of friends together and enjoy an afternoon of company and good fun
