U3A Hervey Bay is sponsoring a creative writing competition open to all residents in the Fraser Coast Regional Council area.

Competition guidelines and entry forms are below.

Entry fee is $10 per story and all entries must be received by deadline: 29 August 2021.
The winner will receive $200 and second place $100. Both stories will be published on our website.

The result will be announced on 24 September in Hervey Bay at the official launch of the Lines in the Sand Readers and Writers Festival, sponsored by the Fraser Coast Regional Libraries.

If you’re a writer, get busy. If you know someone with a gift for story-telling, let them know and encourage them to enter. Help us spread the word.
