NOTICES:
Simple Precautions to Prevent The Spread Of Coronavirus (Covid19)
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE U3A HERVEY BAY COMMITTEE:
Sign on Day for 2021 will be held on 2 Feb 2021 from 10am until 12 noon at Hervey Bay RSL. Due to Covid-19 adherence to social distancing requirements is essential.
For class attendance a COVID-19 Safe Plan has been formulated and adherence to hygiene and social-distancing restrictions will be necessary.
Tutors will explain the plan to members at the beginning of classes and it can be viewed here. The Semester Course List is available here.
IMPORTANT NOTICE RE: PHILOSOPHY CLASSES
ZOOM CLASSES
Two Philosophy Classes are available on-line via Zoom. The beginner's class will start the day after U3A official Sign-On at the RSL, meaning the Zoom Class will begin on Wednesday 3rd of February and Egyptian Philosophy & Culture on Thursday 4th February. Intended participants need to:
- Be a paid-up U3A member
- Check (via the zoom site) that their home computer meets the technical requirements, which includes a working camera and microphone
- Have sufficient data to download email attachments and the latest Zoom app
- Have a personal (non-shared) email address. (a free G-mail is best)
- USB stick. We recommend that you file class-notes in one place.
Fixing computer issues is your personal responsibility. If you have a poor internet connection, there are ‘legal’ remedies. If you are intending buying a new computer, I recommend a desktop or laptop rather than a tablet as you will need to see your classmates and read on-screen. This class is not suitable for a mobile phone.
